SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT OVER ALL THIS BULL SHIT ABOUT KIDZ FEST!!!! BY TOM KEMBERY
A statement from Tom Kembery.
Im writing this post now as i have not expressed myself since i was featured on the front over of the Sun News paper labeled as a con Artist on the 8th Aug 2016, following a children's event i held the day before called KIDZ FEST
For over 3 and a half years now i have been running a number of events along side my full time job, the event i produce are mainly parties and pop up restaurants for adults.
However for 2 years now i have been running local children's fates and parties. Coming from a large family which has 11 children in it, not only do it do these events for them, but i generally feel these are not enough local events for families to go. This gave me the idea this summer to do a small local based children's festival with the idea to grow it in the future.
I can not express how discussed i am at some peoples (especially parents) attitude towards me on the day of the event because they had to pay extra to go on some rides of inflatables! (which was clrealy stated in the adverting info for the event) and the media's out take on the whole thing. Many UK media titles just re-published the same thing from one another....as if there was nothing better to talk about in the world, or the simple fact that they could be assed to do their job and go out and find real stories.
A very disappointing end to what was a great event and had really growth for local families.
Below is an optical statement and the true facts of the event.
I enclose a copy of our letter to The Sun Newspaper and confirm that similar letters are being sent to all other publications.

Re: Tom Kembery/ KIDZ FEST
16 October 2016
I provides both adult and children attractions and historically has arranged events such as “Down the Rabbit Hole”, “The Great Gatsby party”, “USA Day”, “Beer and Burger Festival”, “Mary Poppins pop up restaurant” and recently Kidz Fest.
I have been mentioned in a number of articles along 9th Aug 2016. In particular i appeared on the front page of the Sun on Monday 8th August 2016 and at page 5 of that same newspaper . The Articles have also been published on The Sun website.
This letter is written in accordance with the Pre Action Protocol for Defamation.
True Position
I have not been charged or convicted of any offence and to label me as a “Conman” and to state i am scamming members of the public is defamatory in its extreme. It is also malicious falsehood.
The Articles suggests that there was false or misleading advertisement and that i have mislead the public. This is false. various alleged quotes about me which are clearly intended to portray me as dishonest, without checking the source or veracity of the allegations and without confirming the facts. The event was advertised on our website and a copy of that advertisement is attached. This failed to be address in the Articles or even mention how the event was advertised.
I make it clear that the event will provide numerous free activities but that there will be some activities in which there will be an additional cost, something that some of the members of the public appear to have forgotten or ignored and which you have acted upon in the Articles without checking the true position.
As you will see from my advertisement it clearly confirms the activities available and under the sub heading “additional charges” states “large inflatables in bouncy town (there will be small inflatables around the site that are free of charge) and fun fair rides as these are provided by external companies”.
There has been no false or misleading statements or unfair or untrue sale pitch to the public. i have at all time been open and honest in describing what the public will get for a £8-14 ticket, not a “£36 fun day” as you stated in item (xi) above, clearly giving the impression one would have to pay £36 to enter the event.
Despite the distinct lack of truth in the Articles and the clear impression there was hardly any free activities other than a card board box castle, the actual activities provided free of charge are, contrary to the Articles, set out below:

Despite the distinct lack of truth in the Articles and the clear impression there was hardly any free activities other than a card board box castle, the actual activities provided free of charge are, contrary to the Articles, set out below:
- Main stage with performances all day;
- Peter Pan Theatre Show performed by Tiny Mites;
- Mad Science show;
- Official Dance Party Performance;
- Sammy Jo Evans (singer);
- GB13 (singers);
- Magic Frostie show;
- Hula Hoop Show;
- Dance Tent with workshops all day;
- Petting zoo;
- Jungle Drive colouring (craft section);
- Superhero mask making (craft section);
- Princess bracelet making (craft section);
- Trash to treasure (craft section);
- Punch and Judy shows (4 shows at 10.15am, 12pm, 1.45pm and 3.30pm);
- Medieval history to life display;
- Circus workshop;
- Soft Play area;
- Small bouncers and cars for little kids.
Fairground section which included rides, jumpers and Zorb balls (Carnival Close) as advertised;
- Inflatable section (Bouncy Town) as advertised;
- Archery.
Of course people also had to pay for food (although they could bring their own food) and anything from Stall Holders (traders selling products). Below is a list of the numerous products offered by traders at the event.
Button Crafts, Cars Suitcases, Cakes, Sweets, Coffee, Pancakes, Kids clothing, DELI, Ice Cream, Balloons, Books, Sky Ropes, Gems, Toys, Pizza, Teddy bear building, Essex charity, Henna, LJ's Fun House, Snake, Tillys Vintage Chic, Luna's baby boutique , Glitter Tattoos, Learning activities, African food, 360 Play and Swim School.
It is therefore completely false to publish these Articles which says that the Kidz Fest event contained a few small stalls in which the primary activity was a cardboard box castle. The effect of misleading, defamatory and malicious comments has caused me suffer a substantial financial loss not only in respect of this event but also his business generally.
Yours faithfully
