Hotel Pelirocco launches new room with Koibito by Tomo Kembery

Words: Tomo Kembery

Hotel Pelirocco has teamed up with Koibito - maker of bespoke love hampers - to create a new, one-of-a-kind bedroom. Inspired by the love hotels of Japan this themed bedroom combines street graffiti with contemporary Japanese elegance.

The centrepiece of ‘Koibito Love’ is a unique large graffiti by local artist iownthisart, whose work includes graffiting a bus inside and out during last year’s Brighton Festival. The bedroom also features include a 6ft bamboo circular bed, bespoke furnishings, and balcony overlooking Brighton’s latest attraction: the British Airways i360. The bedroom is en-suite with a deep square bathtub in a modern slate and bamboo walled bathroom.

This is the latest individually themed bedroom from the boutique Brighton hotel since it opened in 2000. Hotel Pelirocco continues to attract guests (including many a famous face) whoareboredofthebeigeandarelookingforanalternativehotelexperience. Overthelast 17 years bedrooms have been created in collaboration with brands including Sony Playstation 02, Rough Trade Records and Kraken Rum.

Teaming up with Koibito is a natural fit for Hotel Pelirocco who have sold Koibito Love Hampers for the last five years. The hampers feature a stylish Eastern-inspired packaging design that appears on many of the new room’s textiles. The brand’s owner Thea Wright brought her experience of living and modelling in Japan in the 90s to the design process to create the new bedroom where east meets west.

Guests can stay in the Koibito Love Room from £135 per night including breakfast.
