Luxury Tree House Break

Yeah, you read it correctly – a luxury tree house break! But before a warm sense of childhood nostalgia starts sweeping over your body I should make it clear that these are not just your average tree houses. Situated in the picturesque Welsh countryside, on the edge of Snowdonia’s National Park, the only thing reminiscent of a traditional back-garden tree house is the lack of electricity.

But why would you need electricity when you’ve got the soft lighting of solar lanterns and a wood burning stove fully equipped with complimentary firewood and firelighters? As well as warming up your tree house, the burner heats the collected spring water so your morning shower is as hot as the gas stove provided for you to cook your meals on. Well maybe not quite as hot, that wouldn’t be sensible or safe, but you get the point – you won’t be cold and neither will your showers.

The compact kitchen comes completely furnished with all the necessary items to avoid starvation – including a sink, pots, pans, cutlery and utensils – and the small reading library will keep you entertained if your holiday partner is boring. Overall, these tree houses offer a far better quality of life than my flat in Hackney does. They’re warmer, more comfortable, better furnished and a lot less likely to collapse at any second.
